The ideal Cellar Criteria of a good cellar with wine :
For a wine lover, a cellar is a necessity. Rules to be respected carefully: - Wine dislike a violent variation of temperature, but it can stand some slow variations with moderation. - The ideal temperature of a cellar is between 10°C to 12°C (50°F to 55°F). - Moderate humidity is one of the most important factor so as to keep the corks in good resilient condition and thereby preventing them from shrinking; a humidity of 70%-80% is recommended. - The gravel is usually used because it gives a natural control of humidity. - Wine is very sensitive to ultraviolet light, the cellar needs a low intensity of brightness. - No vibrations and a good ventilation. - The cellar should be clean and store only wines.
The wine must be in permanent contact with the cork, then it’s very important to store the bottles in horizontal position only.
